New Delhi. With the beginning of November, many dates related to financial matters will become important. Pensioners will have to submit life certificate, while taxpayers who are under tax audit have got additional time to file ITR. Apart from this, LPG cylinder prices and bank FD interest rates will also be monitored. Let us know five important updates.
1. Time from 1st November to 30th November for pensioners
People below 80 years of age receiving government pension will have to submit life certificate from 1 to 30 November 2026. At the same time, pensioners aged 80 years or above can deposit it from October 1 itself. The certificate can also be given by visiting the bank or through digital medium. If this process is not completed on time, there may be problems in payment of pension.
2. Audit taxpayers get chance to file ITR till November 21
The Income Tax Department has extended the last date for filing ITR of the concerned taxpayers coming under audit for the assessment year 2026-27 from 31 October to 21 November 2026. This change is important for traders, companies and other eligible taxpayers to whom tax audit rules apply. The relevant date for submission of audit report was also extended from September 30 to October 21, 2026.
3. Deadline is different for employed people
Employed people should not assume that the ITR date has been extended to November 21 for everyone. The regular deadline for general non-audit individual taxpayers was July 31, 2026. Eligible people can file belated returns as per the applicable rules till December 31, 2026. In case of delay, late fees may be imposed under Income Tax Act. So do check your ITR category and applicable deadlines.
4. Change in LPG cylinder prices possible
Oil marketing companies review LPG prices on the 1st of every month. In such a situation, there is a possibility of change in the prices of domestic 14.2 kg and commercial 19 kg cylinders on November 1. However, how much the prices will increase or decrease will be known only after the official announcement. This may affect the domestic budget as well as hotels and other businesses.
5. Keep track of interest rates on FD
Those investing in FD should pay attention to the interest rates and deposit period of the bank. For example, according to the information given, ICICI Bank has increased the rates of some FDs by 0.10 percent. Indian Bank's special FDs also include tenures of 555 days and 777 days. However, these rates do not apply to all customers and all periods. Before investing, please check the official rate list of the bank.
