Bulandshahr (UP): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national coordinator Akash Anand addressed a public rally at the sports stadium in Khalor, in the Anupshahr Assembly constituency of Bulandshahr. He launched a sharp attack on BJP, Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress, raising issues including unemployment, inflation, vacant government posts and law and order in Uttar Pradesh.

Akash Anand Pledges to Uphold Mayawati's Trust
Referring to BSP chief Mayawati, Anand said he had been tested before being entrusted with a major responsibility in the party. He recalled Mayawati asking how such a significant responsibility towards a large community and political family could be assigned without testing his capabilities.
Anand said he considered the Bahujan community his family and pledged to continue working towards its political empowerment.
BJP Government Targeted Over Jobs and Inflation
Anand questioned the BJP government’s performance over the past decade, alleging that publicity campaigns had overshadowed concerns such as employment and education. He highlighted vacant government positions and said the shortage of recruitment opportunities was affecting young people.
He also criticized rising prices, investment-related claims and the quality of infrastructure projects, including expressways. According to Anand, the government was focusing more on promotion than on problems faced by ordinary citizens.
SP and Congress Also Come Under Fire
The BSP leader questioned the roles of the SP and Congress on paper leaks, reservation and issues affecting Dalits and backward communities. He criticized Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, making allegations about their political approaches and governance records.
Mayawati's Tenure and Social Justice
Anand praised Mayawati's tenure, claiming that employment opportunities were provided to people across communities without caste-based discrimination. He cited a figure of around 30 lakh jobs during the BSP government’s tenure and appealed to supporters to strengthen the party.
BSP Announces Candidates for Two Seats
During the rally, Anand declared Manoj Pradhan as the BSP candidate for Anupshahr and Mukesh Pandit for Shikarpur. The announcements signaled the party's preparations for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, with Anand urging workers to strengthen the organization and unite the Bahujan community.
