Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana i.e. Ayushman Bharat, about four and a half thousand patients have been provided free treatment and operations at Aniruddh Hospital in Yeola, Nashik district of Maharashtra. Through this scheme, economically weak and needy patients are getting treatment facilities. Many patients said that due to the scheme they did not have to spend money from their own pocket for expensive operations.
Hospital doctor Tushar Salunkhe said that under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, a large number of patients have been operated free of cost in his hospital. He said that this scheme has provided special help to those people who did not have enough money to get treatment. Under the scheme, eligible patients get free treatment facility up to Rs 5 lakh annually.
Sharing his experience, Abhishek Dattatreya, who took advantage of the scheme, said that he is a resident of Tehsildar village of Nashik district of Maharashtra. He had kidney stone problem. His acquaintances told him about Anirudh Hospital, where kidney stone operations are done free of cost under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
Abhishek told that after getting the information, he reached the hospital, where the doctors operated on him. He did not have to spend even a single rupee during the treatment. Getting a similar operation done outside could cost anywhere between Rs 70 thousand to Rs 1 lakh. He also appreciated the cooperation of the doctors and staff of the hospital.
A female patient told that there was a lump in her stomach. He got information that under the scheme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, free operations are done in Anirudh Hospital. After this she reached the hospital.
After examination, the doctors operated on him, for which he did not have to pay any money. The woman said that if she had to undergo treatment outside, the operation could have cost lakhs of rupees. According to him, due to the government scheme, his treatment could be done for free and there was no financial burden on the family.
Similarly, another woman told that her daughter was to undergo an operation, which was expected to cost around one lakh rupees. He got information about free operation under the government scheme at Anirudh Hospital.
After this, she took her daughter to the hospital, where she was operated on as per the plan. The woman said that her daughter was treated well and she felt a lot of relief after getting the benefits of the scheme.
Dr. Tushar Salunkhe said that about two and a half thousand types of operations are included under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. It covers the treatment of many major diseases and eligible patients get free treatment facilities.
