Apple’s iOS 27.2 update enhances FaceTime, introducing the Dual Capture feature for group calls. Users can now display both front and rear cameras simultaneously, a capability previously limited to one-on-one calls. To activate this feature on compatible devices, simply press the ‘Flip’ button during a video call.

Compatible devices include the iPhone 17 series, iPhone Air, iPhone 18 series, and iPhone Duo. This feature is particularly useful for users with children, allowing them to share moments with family while remaining visible on screen. All participants in the calls must have iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27 to utilize this feature.

iOS 27.2 also introduces accessibility improvements for FaceTime. Users can now select third-party sign language interpreters via a new ‘Sign Language’ button in the app’s options, enhancing inclusivity by providing access to interpreters through Video Relay Service (VRS) apps.

The update boosts live captioning as well, allowing users to choose third-party captioning options or use Apple’s built-in captions.

iPhone Duo users benefit from the new Edge Light feature, which improves video call lighting by generating a ring of light around the display, similar to the lighting available on Mac devices.

Released on October 26, the iOS 27.2 update also includes enhancements to Siri and other apps. Users can download it through the device’s Settings under Software Update.
