New Delhi. On the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Home Minister of the country and the person who made India a sovereign country by uniting all the princely states, Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid floral tributes to him. Shah remembered late Sardar Patel. He targeted Congress while addressing the 'Run for Unity' program at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi. Amit Shah said that PM Narendra Modi has firmly established the legacy of Sardar Saheb in the country by building the Statue of Unity.
Union Home Minister Shah said that for many years India did not give Sardar Saheb the respect he actually deserved for his contribution. Amit Shah said that Congress always tried to erase the memories of Sardar Saheb. However, the sun's brightness cannot be hidden. Referring to the Statue of Unity, the Home Minister said that PM Modi is going to give the message of national unity by taking the salute of the police parade across the country from the same place this evening. Amit Shah said that since PM Modi assumed power in 2014, Sardar Patel's birth anniversary is being celebrated as National Unity Day. Shah said that Sardar had an important role in uniting the country. For this reason he is considered the creator of united India.

Amit Shah said that when India became independent, the world's political experts had predicted that this country would disintegrate, but in 1218 days after independence, Sardar Patel did what everyone considered impossible by creating a united India. He said that this was such a task which perhaps even a group of leaders could not do together in their entire life. Amit Shah said that the India envisioned and built by Sardar Patel stands proudly in front of the world today. He said that Sardar Patel's contribution was not just the merger of the princely states. He also played an important role in strengthening the territorial integrity of the country. The Union Home Minister said that we all know that Sardar Patel was a great personality. Who not only changed the history of the country but also shaped its geography. Shah said that linguistic, cultural and traditional diversity in the country is not our weakness but our strength. This was the message of Sardar Patel.
