Nokia 2360 Flip phone launched: Dual display and emergency SOS button; Battery will last for 15 days

HMD has officially launched its new feature phone Nokia 2360 Flip. This phone has been specially introduced keeping in mind children, school going students and the elderly. Special features like dual display, emergency SOS button and Family Assist have been provided in the phone. With its help, a family member can setup and manage this phone even while being away from his smartphone.

Nokia 2360 Flip has been introduced a few days after the launch of HMD 2660 Flip Senior Edition. However, the big difference between the two phones is network support. While the HMD 2660 Flip supports 4G connectivity, the Nokia 2360 Flip only works on 2G GSM networks (900/1800MHz). In such a situation, it may be difficult to use this phone in areas where 2G network has been closed.

With Family Assist feature you can control from smartphone
The most special feature of Nokia 2360 Flip is Family Assist. Through this, a family member can remotely setup and manage the phone by installing the Family Assist app on their Android or iPhone. This app is available for free on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The special thing is that the app connects to the phone through SMS. Therefore, a person using Nokia 2360 Flip will not need an internet data plan. With the help of Family Assist, users can do many things, such as:

  • Adding new contacts to the phone.
  • Setting reminders.
  • Changing phone volume.
  • Setting the SOS button.
  • Updating emergency contacts.

If the mobile number of a family member changes or the number of a new doctor needs to be saved, then this work can be done from another smartphone.

Emergency SOS button will provide security
A dedicated SOS button is provided in Nokia 2360 Flip. In case of any emergency, by pressing this button continuously for 3 seconds, the phone calls the pre-set number. Apart from this, the phone can also send SMS to maximum 5 emergency contacts simultaneously. Through the Family Assist app, it can be decided to whom the emergency alert is to be sent and what will be written in the message.

This feature can be especially useful for the elderly and people who need to contact family members immediately when needed.

School Mode and Parental Control for children
HMD has also introduced Nokia 2360 Flip as the first mobile phone for children. School Mode has been provided in it, when activated, only features like clock and emergency call can be used in the phone. Apart from this, many types of controls have been provided in the phone through Family PIN.

  • Only approved contacts can be allowed to make calls and SMS.
  • Features like camera and games can be blocked.
  • The features of the phone can be limited according to the use of children.

All these settings can be managed through Family PIN in the phone itself. For this, Family Assist app will not be required every time.

Features and specifications of Nokia 2360 Flip
Nokia 2360 Flip has a dual display. The main screen of the phone is a 2.8-inch QVGA display, which has large menu icons. At the same time, a 1.77 inch QQVGA screen is provided on the exterior of the phone. A built-in loudspeaker is also available in the phone. Apart from this, it also supports Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC2011), which can provide convenience to people using hearing aids. Talking about battery, it has a removable battery of 1,450mAh. According to the company, this phone can provide up to 15 days of standby and up to 27.5 hours of talk time on a single charge.
