Action Against Pollution In Delhi: War against pollution started in Delhi, know what precautionary steps were taken?

New Delhi. Every year there is dense fog in Delhi during the winter season. Due to which the pollution level crosses the danger limit. There are chances of fog this year too. As a result, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has taken steps to fight pollution in Delhi from Sunday 1 November. Under these steps, from November 5 to 20, only a maximum of 50 percent employees will be able to come to government and private offices in Delhi and some districts of NCR. The remaining employees will work from home. Also, it has been decided to stop the entry of old vehicles into Delhi.

As part of measures to curb pollution in Delhi, CAQM has also banned construction work and demolitions that cause dust. Apart from Delhi, CAQM related instructions will also be applicable in Ghaziabad and Noida of UP and Gurugram, Faridabad and Sonipat of Haryana. Railways, metro, airport, interstate bus stand, hospital, sanitation and drinking water projects have been kept out of the restrictions related to construction work. Apart from this, work on country's security and projects of national importance can also be continued. Apart from this, non-BS-6 standard vehicles have also been banned from entering Delhi.

CAQM has imposed all these restrictions after analyzing the air quality data in Delhi and NCR in the month of November between 2018 and 2025. Statistics show that the air quality had reached severe and very poor levels several times from the beginning to the middle of November. Pollution in Delhi is also increasing due to stubble burning at some places in Punjab, Haryana and Western UP. However, the governments of the three states had told the Supreme Court that the incidents of stubble burning have declined. Nevertheless, recently some such videos came in which stubble was seen burning in some fields. After the formation of BJP government in Delhi, it was said that the capital will be completely free from pollution. It remains to be seen how successful the present Rekha Gupta government is in fulfilling this promise.
