Diljit Dosanjh responds to CJP criticism on stage

Diljit Dosanjh used his Delhi concert on Friday to answer his critics, including the Cockroach Janata Party, and he said he does not need anyone to teach him how to fight.

The 42-year-old was performing on the opening night of his Aura India Tour 2026 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

A few months ago, when a fan asked about the exam paper leak protests, he said he was “just an artist.” Many people called that evasive.

CJP leaders, including Abhijit Dipke, accused him of hypocrisy for staying quiet on the student protests while being part of politically charged films like Satluj.

Without naming the CJP, the Naina singer told the packed crowd, “I love all of you because I am an artist, bro. I am being quiet, so let me stay quiet. I support all of you. But don’t teach Punjabis how to fight.”

He also hit back at people who made fun of Satluj on stage. “The film you are making fun of on stage, Jaswant Singh Khalra’s film, we fought for that film for a long time. I love all of you. If someone hates us, it’s okay. But I love all of you.”

Satluj, directed by Honey Trehan, is based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.

It was stuck in censorship trouble for years under the title Panjab 95then released on Zee5 on July 3.

It was pulled within two days, though critics had praised it in that short window.
