BJP MP Sambit Patra targeted Rahul Gandhi over the mega rally of INDIA Block at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. He questioned the claims of gathering crowd in the rally and termed it a waste of time. Patra also hit back at Rahul Gandhi's election related statements.
Tezzbuzz Desk – Political rhetoric between BJP and Congress has intensified regarding the mega rally of INDIA Block in Delhi. BJP MP Sambit Patra while attacking Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that no one can become a leader or Prime Minister only by adopting such tactics. Explaining the word 'Prime Minister', he said that 'P' means 'sweat' and 'M' means 'hard work'. Patra sarcastically said that the election results will remind Rahul Gandhi of the orgy.
Questioning the claims made regarding the number of crowd at the rally, Sambit Patra said that despite the coming together of many parties and flags in the INDIA alliance, a crowd of 10 lakh people could not be gathered. According to him, about 40 percent of Ramlila Maidan was vacant. He claimed that Congress and Rahul Gandhi's team had talked about 10 lakh people attending the rally, but the ground situation was different. Patra said that BJP was keeping an eye on the INDIA alliance rally since morning and he also listened to Rahul Gandhi's speech carefully.
Referring to the empty chairs, the BJP MP claimed that about 28 thousand chairs were arranged in Ramlila Maidan, out of which 5 thousand to 7 thousand chairs were vacant between 3:30 pm to 4 pm. He raised questions on organizing the rally on the basis of these claims and called it a waste of time.
Sambit Patra also hit back at Rahul Gandhi's statement calling the 2024 Lok Sabha elections illegal. He said that Gyanesh Kumar was not present at the time of 2024 elections and he became the Election Commissioner in 2025. Patra sarcastically said that if Rahul Gandhi considers the 2024 elections illegal, then according to his logic he himself is an illegal leader of opposition and all the Congress MPs are also illegal.
The BJP MP said that if an election is considered illegal, it should be challenged in court. He raised the question whether Rahul Gandhi, Congress or any party of the INDIA alliance has filed any petition to challenge the 2024 elections. Patra said that after two and a half years, no election can be declared illegal by standing in Ramlila Maidan.
