A very big and important news is coming out from the corridors of cricket regarding the Indian Premier League (IPL 2027), the most favorite and exciting tournament of cricket lovers. Before the Mini Auction for the upcoming season, all 10 franchises were to submit the retention list of their respective players, the date of which has been officially changed by the BCCI. Earlier this deadline was set for November 15, but now it has been extended giving the teams a little more time. Apart from this, many big updates have also come out regarding the auction date, venue and rules related to this mini auction. Let us know in detail what changes have been made in this new process of IPL 2027 and what effect it will have on the strategies of all the franchises. There has been a change in the last date for submitting the retention list, now time till 17th November. According to media reports and information coming from reliable sources, all the franchises have now got two additional days to submit their retention list for IPL 2027. According to the earlier schedule, all the teams were to submit this list by November 15, but now this deadline has been extended to November 17. This two-day extension has given the management of all the 10 franchises—Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans—some more time to think over their strategies and assess the performance of the players. The names of many big and well-known players who have struggled with poor form in the last few seasons may be out of the retention list this time, due to which this year's auction is expected to be very exciting. When and where will the IPL 2027 auction take place? There is no change in the date and venue. Even though the retention deadline has been changed, the situation regarding the date and venue of the IPL 2027 auction is completely clear and no change has been made in it. As per the scheduled schedule, this time the auction will be a 'mini auction', which will be held on 16th December at the prestigious ITC Grand Hotel, Goa in the beautiful tourist state of the country. Now only about 40 days are left in the auction before the big match, and the think-tanks of all the teams are busy finalizing their strategic preparations. Although no official time table has been released yet by BCCI regarding the timing of the auction, it is believed that it may start around 1:00 or 2:00 pm. Team India will take the field on the same day of the auction, will compete with Sri Lanka. A very interesting coincidence related to this upcoming IPL auction is that on the same day (December 16) when the IPL mini auction will be going on in Goa, on the same day the Indian cricket team will be playing a high-voltage match on the field. According to the schedule, the Indian team's second ODI match is to be played against Sri Lanka on 16th December. In such a situation, while on one hand the eyes of the cricket fans will be fixed on the auction table of Goa, on the other hand the performance of Indian players will also be seen on the TV screen. Due to two big cricket events happening on the same day, sports lovers are going to get a double dose of thrill on that day. Rules of Mini Auction: What will be special this time? This auction for IPL 2027 is a 'mini auction', which has its own different rules and equations. Unlike the mega auction, in the mini auction there is no fixed limit for the franchises to retain players, rather the teams can retain as many players as per their need and budget. However, one major difference is that franchises cannot use the 'Right to Match' (RTM – Right to Match) card during the mini auction. Teams will have to bet wisely in this mini auction to connect their incomplete links and strengthen their weak points. This is the reason that when all the teams submit their final retention list on November 17, it will become clear which team has how big a purse and how many vacant places are available for the auction.
