Prema Rawat breaks Fatima Sana's record with a 14-ball half-century
Prema Rawat broke the record for the fastest fifty in women's T20 cricket held by Fatima Sana since May 2026. The Pakistan captain smashed a rapid 15-ball half-century against Zimbabwe in Karachi, breaking the previous record of 18 balls in Women's T20 International.
Prior to Fatima's feat, New Zealand's Sophie Devine, Australia's Phoebe Litchfield and India's Richa Ghosh all shared the record of 18 balls.
However, Rawat's 15-ball half-century tied the women's T20 record set by Marie Kelly and Laura Harris. But Rawat has gone one better with her stunning display against Hyderabad to reduce the record to 14 balls.
Considering Rawat is famed as a bowler, it was a standout innings from the Indian leg-spinner. She has shown she can be a dangerous batter too.

Rawat then stepped up to hit an incredible finish to their innings as they reached 187/2 from 20 overs.
Hyderabad found it difficult to chase down the high total and were unable to put on any big partnerships. They were left with 98/8 from their 20 overs, giving Uttarakhand a massive 89-run victory.
Rawat also performed well with the ball taking 2/12 from her four overs. She took the wickets of Gugulothu Kavyashree and Nalla Kranthi Reddy.

She was selected after some impressive outings for India A. She took 8 wickets in 5 matches during their successful Women's Asia Cup Rising Stars campaign.
She also impressed during their tour to Australia in 2025 with 7 wickets in 3 T20 games.
Rawat made her debut in 2026 and has played 7 T20Is for India so far. She has taken 7 wickets, with her best coming against Pakistan at the Women's Asia Cup with 3/9.
Her latest performance against Hyderabad has shown what she is capable of as a batter. From being a budding leg-spinner to breaking a record for the quickest 14-ball half-century, Rawat has provided Indian Cricket with another exciting all-rounder to look out for.
