Lucknow. BJP leader Sangeet Som has targeted Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav on Sanatan Dharma and temples. He alleged that instead of coming forward himself, Akhilesh Yadav is making his supporters make statements against Sanatan Dharma. Sangeet Som, while mentioning the alleged controversial statements of SP leader ST Hasan and Rajkumar Bhati, said that Akhilesh Yadav's thinking is behind this. He also accused the SP chief of having an opposing attitude towards Sanatan Dharma and Lord Shri Ram and Shri Krishna.
Responding to ST Hasan's statement regarding Ram temple, Sangeet Som said that from the statement of the SP leader it seems that there is talk of demolishing the Ram temple in Ayodhya after Diwali. He said that now there is a government of Ram devotees in Uttar Pradesh. Taking aim at SP, Sangeet Som alleged that in the past, bullets were fired and lathicharged on Ram devotees.
Like Ayodhya, a grand temple will be built in Mathura too
Sangeet Som said that a grand Ram temple has been constructed in Ayodhya and a similar grand temple will be built in Mathura also. He said that traditions are being carried forward in the state through Deepotsav and religious-cultural events. According to him, Akhilesh Yadav is not accepting the cultural development taking place in the state.
