Hyundai i20 Price Hike: Hyundai has increased the price of i20, now know how much you will have to shell out for which variant.

Automobile Desk – Hyundai i20 Price Hike: Hyundai Motor India, a car manufacturer with a strong hold in the Indian automobile market, has announced an increase in the prices of its famous premium hatchback car Hyundai i20. If you too were planning to buy this popular Hyundai car this festive season or in the coming days, then you may have to spend a little more money. The company has increased the prices of the car by up to Rs 5,000 depending on different variants. After this new price revision, now the starting ex-showroom price of i20 in showrooms across the country has started from Rs 6 lakh and has reached Rs 10.68 lakh for the top model.

The effect of this increase in prices has been seen on most of the trims of the car, however, it is a matter of relief that Hyundai has not tampered with the prices of its base models. The company has informed that the old prices of the first two variants of i20 – Era 1.2 Petrol MT and Magna Executive 1.2 Petrol MT – have been retained as they are. This simply means that there will be no extra burden on the pockets of customers buying cars in the budget segment. At the same time, the prices of all other petrol manual and automatic (IVT) variants coming with medium and top-end features have been increased.

If we talk about the mechanical front and powertrain of this premium hatchback, the Hyundai i20 has a 1.2-litre capacity 4-cylinder Kuppa petrol engine. This refined engine is capable of generating maximum power of 82 bhp and peak torque of 114.7 Nm. Talking about transmission options, customers get the option of 5-speed manual gearbox as well as the company's patented IVT i.e. Intelligent Variable Transmission. The i20 has its own reputation and identity in the premium hatchback segment of the Indian car market, as it is currently the only car in the segment that offers the smoothness and refinement of a 4-cylinder petrol engine.

The company is not limited to just updating the prices of its existing vehicles, but Hyundai is also working on a strategy to rapidly expand its portfolio in India. According to the news coming from the auto industry, Hyundai can unveil many new and innovative products from the platform of Bharat Mobility Global Expo to be held in 2027. The company plans to introduce new generation vehicles suited to Indian roads, with a special focus on the passenger segment as well as green mobility i.e. Electric Vehicle (EV) space.

The biggest attraction among the new future projects is going to be Hyundai's upcoming compact electric car, which is currently known by the codename 'Ioniq P'. This will be a sub-compact electric SUV with a length of less than 4 meters, which the company can officially launch in the country's auto market by the end of next year. According to the market strategy, Hyundai will place it in the lower segment of its upcoming Creta EV, so that Indian buyers looking for affordable electric cars can get a great and practical option.

Apart from electric car, the company is also preparing to launch its new vehicle in MPV i.e. Multi Purpose Vehicle segment. According to reports, Hyundai may introduce a new 7-seater car named 'Neira', which will be based on the group's own Kia Carens Clavis platform. The use of many modern features, cabin space and advanced technology of Kia can be seen in this new family car. Auto experts believe that the company may display it publicly for the first time during the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo, after which its sales will be started.
