HBO has decided to bring back Sharon Horgan’s Youth for another season, renewing it for a second season.

Coming just a day after the finale, the renewal follows an episode that left Sharon’s Alex at a pivotal moment, with challenges unfolding in both her personal and professional life.

The Irish actress takes on the role of a 50-year-old divorced woman trying to balance her love life and family responsibilities while dealing with her ailing parents and a son who is having trouble adjusting to college.

Fans will have to wait a while as no details have been shared so far regarding when the series will return for its second season.

Alongside Sharon, 56, the series brings together Rupert Friend as Patrick, Sharlene Whyte as Sam, Aran Murphy as Ruari and Robbie Gee as Frank.

The first season, which dropped on September 20, comprised of eight episodes.

During her career as an actress, Sharon has starred in multiple productions like Bad Sisters, Motherland, This Way Up, Pulling, Catastrophe and more.

Regarding the renewal she expressed her delight, saying, “I’m so happy to get another opportunity to live out my emotional and biological crises on HBO.”

Continuing, “I can’t think of a better platform to air my UTI problems on. The response to ‘Youth’ has been beyond what I could have hoped for. I’m so grateful for the response and the chance to work with this incredible cast and creative team once more.”
