Tracxn Q2 Loss Narrows 26% YoY To ₹4.1 Cr, Revenue Stays Flat

Listed private market intelligence platform Tracxn Technologies reported a 25.8% decline in its net loss to ₹4.1 Cr in the September quarter of FY27 (Q2 FY27) from ₹5.6 Cr, helped by a lower tax charge. Sequentially, its loss widened 37.1% from ₹3 Cr.

Operating revenue remained largely flat, rising 0.3% to ₹21.3 Cr from ₹21.2 Cr. The top line increased 1.1% from ₹21.1 Cr in the preceding quarter.

The narrower YoY net loss reflects a change in tax expenses. Tracxn incurred a ₹6.2 Cr tax charge in Q2 FY26, compared with a ₹52 Lakh tax credit in the quarter under review.

Before tax, the company swung to a loss of ₹4.6 Cr from a profit of ₹62.4 Lakh a year earlier. Its pre-tax loss stood at ₹2.8 Cr in Q1 FY27.

The Bengaluru-based company provides private-company data and software to venture capital firms, private equity firms, investment banks, and corporate teams.

Total income, including other income and gains, stood at ₹22.7 Cr, compared with ₹22.5 Cr in Q2 FY26 and ₹22.6 Cr in the preceding quarter.

India Growth Offsets Overseas Decline

India accounted for 53% of Tracxn’s Q2 FY27 revenue, with domestic revenue growing 6.9% sequentially to ₹11.3 Cr. The company said this represented an annualised growth run rate of nearly 30%.

International revenue declined 4.8% sequentially to ₹10 Cr, accounting for the remaining 47%.

Tracxn said investments in data and sales capabilities in India over the past two to three years were driving domestic growth. It is now making similar investments across its international business units, which it expects to support growth over the coming quarters.

Its strategy involves creating specialised teams for customer segments, expanding relevant datasets and product capabilities, and then scaling sales teams.

For instance, monthly new customer wins in its India investment banking business increased from nine to 13 during FY26 and reached 20 in Q1 FY27. It is targeting 30 monthly wins.

Tracxn plans to expand the sales team responsible for closing deals from 34 members in December 2025 to around 60 by December 2026. Of these planned positions, 56 had been filled by September.

Sales and marketing teams accounted for 30% of its total headcount in Q2 FY27, up from 25% a year earlier.

AI And Data Expansion

Tracxn has introduced Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors that allow paid users to access its proprietary company intelligence through AI tools including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Cursor.

It has also introduced an AI assistant that lets users query its database in plain English, alongside ready-to-use investor agents for tasks including due diligence, competitive benchmarking, sector research, and startup scouting. More workflows are planned.

On data coverage, Tracxn said its database contained detailed financials for more than 7.5 Mn companies across over 20 countries, while its global legal entity database covered 66 Mn entities.

The company is also using Tracxn Lite, which offers limited platform access, to attract potential paying customers. It reported 3.49 Lakh cumulative sign-ups and 17.1 Mn organic visits during Q2 FY27.

Customer accounts increased 13% YoY to 2,419, while users grew 16% to 6,854.

Tracxn said it expects annual cost growth to moderate to low single digits after its current investment phase, supported by AI-led reductions in data production costs. It expects this to help it return to profitability.
