Washington. Speculations have intensified that US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore, close to US President Donald Trump, will get a big administrative responsibility. According to media reports, Gore's name is in discussion for senior positions in the White House amid a possible reshuffle in the Trump administration after the US midterm elections.
'The Washington Sun', quoting ten sources related to the matter, said that Gore is considered close to President Trump and has previously worked as a senior aide in the White House. According to the report, he aspires to play a more prominent role in the remainder of the president's second term.
The report also claims Gore's name has been discussed for positions such as White House Chief of Staff and possible successor to Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Apart from this, the possibility of replacing Deputy Foreign Minister Chris Landau in the Foreign Ministry has also been raised.
However, Sergio Gore has rejected these speculations outright. Describing the report as completely baseless, he said that Marco Rubio is the most capable and successful Foreign Minister in history. Describing Rubio as his close friend, he made it clear that he has no interest in any other position.
A White House official also dismissed these reports as fabricated and said that Gore is not interested in any other position.
It is noteworthy that after the Republican Party suffered a setback in the mid-term elections held on Tuesday night, discussions have intensified in American political circles regarding possible changes in the Trump administration.
