Mega Block will be operated on Main Line and Harbor Line by Mumbai Division of Central Railway on Sunday, 8 November 2026 for various engineering and maintenance works. This block will be between Matunga and Mulund on the main line and between Panvel and Vashi on the Harbor line. Due to this, many Mumbai local services will be affected, while some trains will be run on fast line and many services will remain cancelled.
Block on main line from 11:05 am to 3:55 pm
According to Central Railway, there will be a mega block from 11:05 am to 3:55 pm on Up and Down slow lines between Matunga and Mulund stations.
During this period, Dn slow local trains leaving from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) from 10:14 am to 3:32 pm will be run on Dn fast line between Matunga and Mulund. These trains will stop at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund stations. After Mulund, they will again be run on the Down Slow Line.
Similarly, Up slow local trains leaving Thane from 11:07 am to 3:51 pm will be run on the Up fast line between Mulund to Matunga. Their stop will be at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla and Sion stations. After Matunga, these trains will again be operated on the Up Slow Line.
These local trains diverted on the fast line are likely to be delayed by about 15 minutes in reaching their destination. Additionally, all up and down local trains departing and arriving at CSMT between 11 am and 5 pm will also run behind schedule by approximately 15 minutes.
Block on Harbor Line from 11:05 am to 4:05 pm
There will be a mega block from 11:05 am to 4:05 pm on the Up and Down lines between Panvel and Vashi stations on the Harbor Line. However, Port Line services will continue as normal.
Harbor Line services to remain cancelled:
Up Harbor local trains from Panvel towards CSMT will remain canceled from 10:33 am to 3:49 pm.
Down Harbor local trains from CSMT towards Belapur and Panvel will remain canceled from 9:45 am to 3:12 pm.
Trans-harbour line services also affected
Changes have also been made in local services on the Trans-Harbour Line.
Up local trains from Panvel towards Thane will remain canceled from 11:02 am to 3:53 pm.
Down local trains from Thane towards Panvel will also remain canceled from 10:01 am to 3:20 pm.
Alternative arrangements for passengers
Special local trains will be run between CSMT and Vashi during the mega block. At the same time, Trans-Harbour Line services will be available between Thane and Vashi/Nerul stations. Trains will continue to run normally on the Port Line also.
Central Railway has clarified that the Mega Block is necessary for maintenance of railway tracks, signaling system and other infrastructure and to ensure safe rail travel of passengers. Railways has appealed to passengers to keep in mind the changes made in train services while planning their journey on Sunday.
