Girnar Lili Parikrama: The famous Girnar Lili Parikrama will start from November 20 in Junagadh, Gujarat. Lakhs of devotees are likely to participate in this circumambulation. Earlier on Thursday, the district administration, saints and people's representatives inspected the Parikrama Marga. Drinking water, security and other facilities for devotees were reviewed on this occasion.

Inspection of Parikrama Marga by Administration

The Girnar Lily Parikrama will begin on November 20 at 12 midnight and continue till November 24. Considering the number of devotees coming from all over the country, the administration has started preparations. In the next 15 days, the emphasis is on making facilities on the Parikrama route more efficient.

The Parikrama Marga prepared by the Forest Department was inspected by the administration and the saints. On this occasion, satisfaction was expressed regarding the arrangement on the route. Last year Parikrama had to be canceled due to heavy rains. However, due to less rainfall this year, challenges of a different kind have arisen.

Ban on carrying plastic in forest

Carrying plastic in Girnar forest has been banned as per the order of the High Court. Therefore, it has been requested that devotees should avoid the use of plastic during circumambulation. Also, due to the large amount of dried leaves in the forest, instructions have been given to take special care while lighting the dhuni or the hearth.

Sant Indrabharti Bapu said that administration, sadhus-saints, MPs, MLAs and other officials jointly inspected the Parikrama Marga. Due to lack of rain this year, many borewells have dried up and there is some shortage of water.

New borewell for drinking water

Collector Yogesh Chaudhary said that this year the amount of rain has remained less than the previous years. Hence rivers and surface water sources in the area are not available. The administration is arranging a new bore well so that the devotees do not face any problem in drinking water.

The administration has also invited devotees from neighboring districts of Gujarat and other states for the circumambulation. However, considering the scarcity of water and increasing temperature, the district collector has appealed that children and senior citizens should consider avoiding or postponing this year's circumambulation.
