Delhi. Delhi Police has registered an FIR in a case of demanding extortion of Rs 20 crore from the owner of a private hospital located in Nihal Vihar in outer Delhi by threatening to kill him. Police sources gave this information on Thursday. According to police sources, complainant Shakeel Saifi, the owner of the hospital, received an extortion demand from an international number through social media on November 3.
Extortion demand of Rs 20 crore in the name of Lawrence Gang
Lawrence Gang is continuously targeting Bollywood. Recently, firing was done publicly on Tiger Shroff. After this many Bollywood actors received threats. Which mainly includes many film actors like Amitabh, Salman, Aamir. This list did not stop here but after this Ekta Kapoor's brother and Jitendra Kapoor's son received threats.
Now Haji Shakeel Saifi has received threats. The caller identified himself as Anil Pandit and reportedly claimed that he had done recce of the hospital owner. According to the police, he gave 24 hours time to arrange the amount and threatened to face dire consequences if his demand was not met. He identified himself as being associated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang.
Police deployed for Saifi's security
However, for the security of Haji Shakeel Saifi, police has been deployed in front of his farm house in Nihal Vihar. It is awaited when the police will reach the accused in this alleged extortion case and when the whole matter will be revealed.
Threat received through voice note
According to the FIR, Saifi also told the police that he had received a threatening voice message from the same number a day earlier i.e. on November 2. An FIR has been registered at Nihal Vihar police station and further investigation into the matter is underway. The police are investigating the case from various aspects including the identity of the caller, his connection with the alleged gang and the motive behind demanding extortion.
Who is Haji Shakeel Saifi?
Haji Shakeel Saifi is an Indian leader and social worker. He is the chairman of 'World Peace Harmony' organization. He has also been associated with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Muslim Rashtriya Manch. Apart from this, he has been a former member of the Censor Board and has also contested the Lok Sabha elections.

Haji Shakeel Saifi is also said to have connections with Bollywood and politics. He is recognized in the film industry and he keeps interacting with big film stars. Meanwhile, cases of threatening film personalities for extortion are also coming to light. On Wednesday, a case of demanding extortion worth crores of rupees from actor Ayushmann Khurrana in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi gang came to light. Earlier, there was news of extortion being demanded from actor Tusshar Kapoor also.
Police investigating gang ties
Police are investigating to identify the person who issued the threat and his alleged links with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The reason behind demanding extortion and other aspects related to the case are also being investigated. Police are examining all available evidence including calls and voice notes.
