Voters missed in SIR will get another chance, door-to-door verification campaign will run in these states

Tezzbuzz Desk- The Election Commission has decided to give another chance to those who were left out from including their names in the voter list under the SIR process. Under this, door-to-door verification campaigns will be conducted in Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Jharkhand and Nagaland. During this campaign, information and documents related to voter list will be scrutinized.

During the verification drive, documents of those voters who have been categorized as absent, transferred, dead or duplicate will also be scrutinized. Through this process, the status of names registered in the voter list will be verified by the Election Commission. The concerned voters will get an opportunity to submit their documents and prove their eligibility.

The purpose of this process is to make the voter list more accurate and updated. Voters found eligible during verification will be given an opportunity to get their names included in the final voter list. This is expected to provide relief to those people who could not get their names included during the SIR process due to some reason.

Under this decision of the Election Commission, information related to voters will be collected by reaching door to door in the designated states. Verification of documents of eligible voters will be done along with checking of names placed in absentee, transferred, dead and duplicate category. After this, the names of those found eligible can be included in the final voter list.
