The Mumbai-listed company said in a filing late Thursday that it will purchase Evos from London-based Igneo Infrastructure Partners in an all-cash transaction financed with debt, establishing a substantial foothold in Europe.
Japan’s MUFG underwrote the deal and is providing financing commitments of up to EUR2.8 billion, it added.
The acquisition “marks an important milestone in APSEZ’s trajectory towards handling 1 billion tons of cargo and building a truly global, integrated transport platform,” Karan Adani, managing director of Adani Ports and Gautam’s elder son, said in the statement.
Evos, one of Europe’s largest liquid storage operators, has 6.3 million cubic meters of storage capacity at eight terminals in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Belgium and Malta.

Its facilities serve major energy and industrial hubs. Pipelines also link the terminals to key infrastructure, including Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands and the Central Europe Pipeline System, according to Forbes.
Evos handled 37 million metric tons of liquids in 2025, including conventional fuels such as gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, along with cleaner alternatives such as sustainable aviation fuel, biofuels, methanol and bioethanol.
“We look forward to partnering with Europe, supporting its sustainable energy transition and creating enduring value while maintaining financial prudence that underpins our growth,” Karan said.
Adani Ports said its global network will grow to 28 ports and terminals across 10 countries when the transaction closes, subject to regulatory approvals.
The company currently operates 16 facilities in India. Its diversified marine fleet consists of 138 vessels, while its ports have a combined cargo-handling capacity of 671 million metric tons, equivalent to about 27% of India’s total port volumes.
Gautam, whose real-time net worth stands at $83 billion, chairs the Ahmedabad-based Adani Group. In Asia, he ranks behind Indian top billionaire Mukesh Ambani ($90.5 billion), and TikTok co-founder Zhang Yiming ($84 billion).
