Vietnam’s cave kingdom all set for paramotor gliding

Organized by Jungle Boss Tours, it has received authorities approval for trialing until December 2027.

During initial launch, the company plans to fly 5 to 6 paramotors, hosting up to 200 guests daily depending on the weather.

Each 20-minute flight will be a tandem ride with a licensed pilot.

The take-off and landing sites are currently being mapped out around Phong Nha.

Depending on the final flight paths, passengers can look forward to sweeping views of the Son River, dramatic limestone peaks, green fields, and rural vistas.

All gliders will undergo routine maintenance, and experienced pilots will conduct full equipment checks, weather evaluations, and passenger safety briefings before every flight.

A dedicated ground crew, communication network, and emergency response plan will also be in place.

Local tourism officials hope the new activity will offer a fresh perspective on the region, making its debut during the upcoming Quang Tri Culture and Tourism Week.

“Flying over Phong Nha – Ke Bang has been a dream of ours for a long time,” Le Luu Dung, director of Jungle Boss, said.

“We can’t wait to offer visitors a whole new way to experience this wonderful landscape.”

Famed for its massive caves, limestone mountains and primary forests, Phong Nha – Ke Bang has for long drawn adventurers from around the world. It is home to hundreds of caves with many open to tourists, including the world’s largest Son Doong.

Paramotoring will complement popular activities like cave exploring and jungle trekking, providing guests with a rare bird’s-eye view of the national park.
