SIT arrested from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh
Dehradun. The police has arrested her husband Girdhari Lal Sahu, who was absconding after the case filed by Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya. An officer gave this information on Saturday. Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Singh Dobal said that Sahu was arrested on Friday from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate the case. Apart from him, one of his close associates, Satendra Rathore, was arrested from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.
Sahu was absconding after the state's Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Arya lodged an FIR on October 15 on serious charges like assault, cheating, making caste-related comments and conspiring to murder. A non-bailable warrant was issued against Sahu after which the police were raiding several places in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Husband hid the matter of first marriage
Arya had said in her FIR lodged at the Cantt police station in Dehradun that Sahu had married her in 2004 after hiding the details of his first marriage and children and she came to know about this after the birth of her own children. She had also accused her husband of using caste-related words in front of staff members and conspiring to oust her from his companies.
The minister had released a crying video on social media
The minister himself gave this information while crying on social media after registering the case against Sahu. Along with his video, the minister had also released an audio clip in which Sahu is heard talking about conspiring with another woman to murder her. At the same time, after the case was registered by his wife, Sahu also released a video calling the allegations against him false and asked the minister to withdraw the case. He also claimed that Arya had illegal assets worth Rs 210 crore and asked Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to investigate it. Sahu also said that the audio shared by Arya on social media was created with the help of 'AI' and said that this was done with the aim of breaking the family.
