LPG consumers who are not receiving their gas cylinder subsidy should check whether their Aadhaar verification and bank account details are properly updated. In many cases, subsidy payments may get interrupted because Aadhaar e-KYC has not been completed or the Aadhaar number is not correctly linked to the bank account.
The government transfers eligible LPG subsidy payments directly to consumers’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Therefore, having accurate LPG connection details, Aadhaar information and bank account mapping is important for receiving the benefit.
If your LPG subsidy has stopped arriving, a few checks may help identify the issue.
Important Requirements for Receiving LPG Subsidy
Consumers need to complete Aadhaar e-KYC to receive the applicable LPG subsidy. They should also ensure that the DBT facility is active on their bank account.
For this, the Aadhaar number must be linked to the bank account, and the correct account should be registered in the NPCI Mapper. If any of these details are missing or incorrect, subsidy payments may be affected.
How to Check Aadhaar Mapping Status on the NPCI Portal
If your Aadhaar e-KYC and bank account details appear correct but the subsidy is still not being credited, you can check your Aadhaar mapping status through the NPCI portal.
Follow these steps:
- Visit the official NPCI website.
- Open the consumer-related section.
- Select the option for enabling Bharat Aadhaar Seeding.
- Click on ‘Aadhaar Mapping Status’.
- Enter the information requested on the portal.
- Submit the details to check your current Aadhaar mapping status.
This process can help you verify whether your Aadhaar is properly mapped to your bank account.
Complete LPG e-KYC to Avoid Subsidy Issues
Apart from checking bank account mapping, consumers should also ensure that their LPG e-KYC is complete.
Biometric authentication can be completed through the official mobile application of the respective gas company. Consumers who need assistance can contact their LPG distributor or the company’s customer care service.
You can also seek help through the LPG helpline number 1800-2333-555 for information about verification and subsidy-related issues.
LPG Subsidy Rules Changed from October 1, 2026?
According to the Ministry of Petroleum and Gas, biometric Aadhaar authentication is necessary from October 1, 2026, for booking subsidised domestic LPG cylinders.
Consumers who have already completed this verification are not required to repeat the process. Those who have not yet completed biometric authentication will be able to book refills at the subsidised rate after completing the required verification.
LPG consumers should therefore check their e-KYC and Aadhaar-bank linking status to avoid problems with subsidy payments and refill bookings.
