New Delhi. Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Deepke, who had come to Kochi, Kerala to join the protest organized against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, faced trouble while returning home. On his way back to Mumbai, his connecting flight was delayed, due to which he had to spend the whole night at the airport. Deepke himself shared his experience on social media.
Was in a hurry to reach home on Diwali
Abhijeet Deepke, reacting to a social media post by Anish Gawande, national spokesperson of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar), said that he was trying to return home from Kochi, but got stuck at the airport due to the delay of the connecting flight. He wrote that there was no sleep and he had to wait for the plane the whole night.
Deepke also said in a light-hearted manner that he wanted to reach home as soon as possible, so that his mother does not get angry with him for not reaching home on Diwali. He also made a sarcastic comment linking his experience to the problems faced during the festival.
Protestors gathered in Kochi against SIR
Deepke had come to Kochi on 7 November to participate in the 'Jantar-Mantar at Kochi' campaign. In this demonstration, demands were raised to withdraw the special intensive revision of voter list and resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Actor and social activist Prakash Raj led the march from Marine Drive to Rajendra Maidan. Organizers informed that about 500 workers participated in the demonstration.
Addressing the gathering, Deepke said that his movement will continue until a free and fair election system is ensured in the country. He alleged that the current electoral system cannot be trusted. These are his political allegations, on which a different side has also come forward from the Election Commission.
Also claimed regarding 2029 elections
At the meeting in Kochi, Deepke claimed that BJP will be out of power in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. He said that elections are the only way to change the government at the Centre. He also reiterated his demand for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
This demonstration by CJP was a major event organized outside the country's capital after last month's protests in Delhi and the arrest of party leaders. Now Deepke's social media post regarding the night spent at the airport while returning from Kochi is also in the news.
