Stubble Burning Cases: Stubble is being burnt in these states, air pollution is at dangerous level in Delhi and NCR.

New Delhi. Like every year, air pollution in Delhi and NCR has reached dangerous levels. Even before the bursting of Diwali crackers, the air quality index reached 450 at many places in Delhi. The stubble burning in the surrounding states is considered to have a major role in increasing pollution in Delhi and NCR. This year too, farmers are burning stubble in these states. Whose smoke is contributing to making the air poisonous in Delhi and NCR.

According to the latest data from the Agriculture Ministry's CREAMS Lab, between September 15 and November 6, 6266 incidents of stubble burning have taken place in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, UP, Delhi and Uttarakhand. According to the lab, the fire due to stubble burning is being monitored with the help of satellite remote sensing. According to CREAMS Lab, on November 6 alone, 589 incidents of stubble burning took place in 6 states. At the same time, on November 3, the highest number of 584 incidents of stubble burning were detected in Punjab this season. However, the lab says that less stubble is being burnt this year compared to 2025.

The Lab has informed that till November 6 last year, there were 3284 incidents of stubble burning in Punjab. Whereas, this year 3144 cases of stubble burning have been registered. At the same time, in other states also less stubble has been burnt this time. Despite this, the people of Delhi and NCR are bound to suffer the consequences of stubble burning, because due to its burning, smoke and particulate matter reach this area through the air. Due to slow wind speed during cold season, smoke and particulate matter do not disappear from the area quickly. If there is rain in the coming days due to active western disturbance in the areas of Delhi and NCR, then air pollution is expected to reduce. Let us tell you that air pollution in Delhi was very less in October.
