The excitement of Diwali gripped the wheels of Delhi-NCR, there was a flood of buyers in the markets.

New Delhi:The joy and enthusiasm of Diwali has added color to the festival in the entire National Capital Region including the capital Delhi. The huge crowd of people who came out to buy lamps, candles, rangoli, decorative items, sweets and puja materials to illuminate the houses added to the beauty of the markets. At the same time, due to last minute shopping and preparations for fireworks, the pressure of vehicles on the roads of Delhi-NCR increased and a jam-like situation was seen on many major routes.

Huge crowd of buyers in major markets

The movement of buyers had started in the markets since morning, which turned into a crowd by afternoon. It was difficult to even set foot in Connaught Place, Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazaar, Karol Bagh, Lajpat Nagar and other major markets. There were long queues of customers at the shops. Some were seen buying items for home decoration while others were busy purchasing sweets and gifts.

Vehicle pressure and jam on the roads

On the other hand, there were long queues of vehicles on the major routes connecting Delhi to Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad. Lack of parking around the markets and increasing traffic on the roads put the traffic system to the test. At many places, people took longer than usual to reach their destinations.

Appeal to follow traffic rules

Fireworks and preparations for the last phase of Diwali also increased the crowd in the markets. In such a situation, the challenge of the traffic police has also increased. Amidst the festive cheer, people are appealed to follow traffic rules, avoid wrong parking and use public transport if possible.
