‘The Kerala Story’ producer Vipul Amritlal Shah has won a 16-year-old check bounce case. In 2009, Vipul Amritlal Shah through his company ‘Sunshine Pictures Pvt Ltd’ gave a loan to the makers of ‘London Dreams’ to complete their film. Bounced after the producers deposited the check for reimbursement. Now, after 16 years of legal proceedings, Vipul Shah has won and the accused producers have been sentenced.
After 16 years of long and arduous court proceedings, in an order passed by the Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Andheri on April 15, 2026, the producer Shri. P. J. Singh and his wife Smt Geeta Bhalla Singh were convicted. They have been sentenced under Negotiable Instruments Act 1881.

Vipul Amritlal Shah has finally won the 16-year-old check dishonor case against the makers of ‘London Dreams’. In the year 2009, through his company ‘Sunshine Pictures Pvt Ltd’, he had given loans to the producers to complete the film. However, the refund check issued by the manufacturers was dishonored (bounced) after being deposited in the bank.

The court has ordered the concerned producers to pay the amount within 90 days. Otherwise, they will have to undergo imprisonment of 9 months. So it will not be wrong to say that justice is delayed, but justice is finally done.

Vipul Amritlal Shah’s previous film, ‘The Kerala Story 2’, ran into a lot of controversy. Despite the controversy, the film was released in theaters. However, it could not achieve the box office success of ‘The Kerala Story’. Also, it received mixed response from critics.
