17-year-old youth commits suicide, jumps in front of train at Delhi’s Uttam Nagar East metro station
A 17-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide on Friday morning at Delhi’s Uttam Nagar East metro station. According to police officials, the incident was reported to the Metro control room at 11:07 am. It was told that the youth jumped from the platform onto the track and at the same time got hit by the metro train. Police immediately reached the spot and started investigation and necessary action. Officials said investigation is underway to establish the identity of the youth and the reasons behind his suicide.
As soon as the information was received, local police and metro staff reached the spot. Investigation revealed that the youth suddenly jumped in front of the metro train going towards Dwarka from platform number-1. Due to the high speed of the train, the driver did not get enough time to apply brakes and the youth died on the spot. Due to the incident, metro service was affected for some time. Later, with the help of metro staff and police, the body of the youth was taken out from the track and necessary legal process was started.
The young man is a resident of Najafgarh, Delhi.

According to the information, Ashwini had recently passed 12th class and had taken admission in the coaching institute located in Uttam Nagar for further studies. The family told that he was a normal student in studies, but was mentally disturbed due to some personal reasons. The police have not yet found any suicide note, due to which the clear reason behind the incident has not been known.

The body was sent for postmortem
Police have sent the body to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital (DDU Hospital) for post-mortem. Officials said that Ashwini’s mobile phone is being examined to find out with whom he was in contact and for what reasons he was under mental stress.
