Astrologer dies after jumping from 13th floor – Obnews

A very shocking incident has come to light in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. 42-year-old astrologer Rajveer Chawla committed suicide by jumping from the 13th floor of Vinayak Tower of Mahagun Puram Society, Kavi Nagar on March 19, 2026.

When police reached the spot, they found the body of his 70-year-old mother, Satnam Kaur, inside their ground-floor flat. The elderly woman had died at least two to three days ago; His body was wrapped in a blanket on the bed and there were no external injury marks on the body. The post mortem report is awaited to know the exact cause of his death. At present, the possibility of any kind of conspiracy or foul play has been ruled out.

Investigators said that Rajveer had spent time in the flat with his mother’s body in the days before he committed suicide. It is being told that he had told his relatives and acquaintances that he would not be able to survive without his mother.

Rajveer lived separately from his wife and son; His wife and son live in Crossing Republic. His wife told the police that Rajveer had not provided any financial help to the family for the last four months. Shortly before his death, he sent his phone’s lock code to his wife via text message.

Scrutiny of his phone revealed that he was having an extramarital affair with a woman from Haryana. Rajveer had reportedly told the woman that he was divorced and he wanted to marry her.

The police also found out that Rajveer was under severe financial pressure and had a debt of around Rs 15–16 lakh. In recent years, he had suffered several personal tragedies, including the deaths of his father and brother. His brother’s widow had remarried, which further increased his mental and emotional stress. Neighbors described him as a quiet and solitary person who rarely interacted with others.

The case has highlighted serious issues like mental health, financial stress and family separation. Police are continuing their investigation while waiting for the post-mortem report.
