Ayush Badoni’s life changed like this

After Washington Sundar’s injury, Team India was looking for a spin-bowling all-rounder who could play at No.6 or No.7. At that time the selectors opted for the off-spinner, which gave Badoni a chance. Speaking to BCCI TV, Badoni said, “I used to only bat, but for the last two years I have been concentrating more on my bowling. I always feel that I can take wickets and contribute to the team with my bowling. So, being an all-rounder has been beneficial for me. I have bowled a lot for Delhi and taken wickets, so that has benefited me.”

Talking about his family’s reaction to his selection in Team India, Ayush Badoni said, “I got a call late at night, so I couldn’t tell them. Then the announcement came in the morning and then they got to know. They were very happy and proud too. Many of the senior players in the team are veterans, so I try to learn from them while batting or bowling. I think it improves my game. There are many players I like to play with; I have known Harshit Rana for some time. Arshdeep Singh And there’s Shreyas Iyer too; I love playing with him.”
