Documentary film will be made on President Draupadi Murmu, Aamir Khan Production announced, life-journey of the President will be shown

Recently, Aamir Khan Productions has announced the making of a documentary film based on the life and journey of President Draupadi Murmu, which will be directed by filmmaker and writer Swati Chakraborty Bhatkal.

According to Variety India, the documentary will depict Murmu’s remarkable journey from her roots in a small village in Odisha to becoming India’s first tribal President and the second woman to hold the country’s highest constitutional post.

The film will depict important chapters of Murmu’s life, including the personal tragedies, challenges and setbacks he faced before entering public life and ultimately rising to the presidency. The film will also explore his years in public service. This documentary will take forward Aamir Khan Productions’ long-standing tradition of telling stories based on real-life experiences and social change. Over the years, this production house has supported a number of projects that highlight human stories as well as encourage broader discussion on issues of public importance.

Swati Chakraborty will direct

Swati Chakraborty Bhatkal is also joining the banner again with this project, who had earlier directed the 2019 documentary anthology ‘Rubaru Roshni’ produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao. Narrated by Aamir Khan, the film featured real-life stories of violence, grief, forgiveness and reconciliation and was praised for its empathetic and nuanced storytelling style.

Let us tell you that to relive the key moments of President Murmu’s early life, parts of the documentary have reportedly been shot in his native village in Odisha. Local actors have been roped in to depict various stages of his life, while the filmmakers hope to present a detailed account of his journey to Rashtrapati Bhavan by combining dramatic reconstructions, archival material and real locations.
