Nitish Kumar Reddy’s replacement : The Indian cricket team has left for the tour of Ireland and England. India has to play two T20I matches against Ireland, followed by five T20I and three ODI matches against England from June 26. Meanwhile, Suryansh Shedge has been included in the Indian team in place of Nitish Kumar Reddy. Nitish has been ruled out of the upcoming white-ball tour of UK due to a quadriceps injury.

According to BCCI, Nitish had complained of discomfort in his left thigh (quadriceps) after the third ODI against Afghanistan on June 20. After medical examination, the BCCI medical team has advised them to undergo rehabilitation, due to which they have been ruled out of both the T20I series. The men’s selection committee has included Suryansh Shedge in place of Nitish Kumar Reddy in the Indian team for the T20I series against Ireland and England.

Suryansh has been called into the squad after his impressive performance for India A in the recent tri-series in Sri Lanka. The 23-year-old player scored 147 runs in five matches while batting in the middle order and also contributed to the team by bowling 23 overs during the tournament. He was one of the key players in the Mumbai team that won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2024–25; He scored 131 runs in the lower middle order at a strike rate of 251.92.
