According to Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, the arrest was made based on specific intelligence that a woman was frequently visiting various embassies and sensitive diplomatic areas using a vehicle with fake diplomatic number plates. Inspector Dalip Kumar, posted in the branch’s anti-extortion and kidnapping cell, caught a Toyota Innova SUV in Vasant Vihar area on January 15. While searching the vehicle, officers found another fake number plate similar to the number plates used in foreign embassies.

Meanwhile, the woman initially claimed to be a representative of a foreign embassy, ​​but could not name any embassy or produce any valid diplomatic or ownership documents related to the vehicle. She was taken to the Crime Branch office in Sunlight Colony for questioning.

Fake number plate affixed to the vehicle

She removed the vehicle’s original number plate and replaced it with a fake number plate to avoid police checks and gain easy entry into restricted areas. A graduate woman claims to be the All India Secretary of a political party for the past four years. She also claimed to have worked as a counselor in foreign embassies between 2023 and 2024.
