Indiscriminate firing at a bar in Johannesburg, South Africa, nine people dead

According to the information, nine people are feared dead in the firing incident in Bekkersdal Township, located west of Johannesburg. The local media of South Africa has given this information. After the firing, police have increased security in the area.

At least nine people were killed and several others injured in a mass shooting in Johannesburg on Sunday, according to SABC News. It is being told that the gunmen entered an illegal tavern and opened fire indiscriminately on the crowd without any warning, causing panic and chaos. However, earlier it was said that 10 people were killed in this firing.

What did the police say on the firing?

Police said in a statement that the attackers, traveling in two vehicles, opened fire on people present in the bar and continued firing indiscriminately while fleeing the scene. Provincial police commissioner Major General Fred Kekana told SABC Television that the dead included a driver who was outside the bar.

The attackers fled from the scene before the police arrived. As soon as information about the incident was received, emergency services took the injured to nearby hospitals. It is being told that the condition of some of those injured in the firing is critical. Police have begun an investigation into the attack, but no suspect or motive has yet been identified. It is believed that the death toll in the firing may increase further.

Second incident of firing in December

This is the second major shooting incident this month in South Africa. After the recent incident, questions have started being raised regarding the security system in the country.
