This approach prioritizes customer-centric innovation, Indian talent and India-led product development in the next phase of brand development in the country. Celebrating 30 years of operations in India, Samsung’s This new approach further strengthens their long-term cooperation in India’s digital transformation, ‘Make in India’ manufacturing ambitions and innovation-driven economic development.

Since entering India in 1995, Samsung has expanded from manufacturing televisions that take entertainment to new heights to setting up the world’s largest mobile manufacturing plant in Noida. Now designed in India is driving innovation, which also supports its global ecosystem.

1.11 lakh crore revenue and AI ecosystem

With a revenue of Rs 1.11 lakh crore, Samsung is the only brand in India with an end-to-end AI (artificial intelligence) ecosystem. They have brought together Galaxy AI (smartphones, tablets, wearables), Bespoke AI (refrigerators, washing machines and ACs) and Vision AI (televisions and smart monitors) through SmartThings.

Designed in India, for the world

For the past 30 years, Samsung has believed that India supports innovation. Today, the brand has two manufacturing plants in Chennai and Noida, three Research and Development (R&D) centers in Delhi, Noida and Bengaluru and a state-of-the-art design center in Delhi NCR.

  • Customer-Centered Design: The team at Samsung Design, Delhi (SDD) is creating compelling designs for Kids TV (which offers safe and meaningful learning) and the Galaxy M and F series, which engage directly with the Indian consumer.
  • Innovations and Patents: Samsung’s R&D teams are at the forefront of AI, accessibility, streaming and next-generation networks. With over 14,000 patents, Samsung has become India’s leading private sector patent filing company.

Investing in future innovators

Samsung’s approach of #PoweringInnovationForIndia is not just limited to products. The company is expanding university collaboration and open innovation initiatives with startups in India.

Through initiatives like Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, Samsung Innovation Campus and Samsung Dost, Samsung is equipping the youth of India with skills relevant to the needs of Industry 4.0. The company is providing grants and incubation support to students across the country in AI, IoT, digital technology and employment opportunities. Samsung’s CSR initiatives have benefited nearly 1.5 million individuals across India.

Launched in India in 1995, Samsung is today the largest mobile phone and consumer electronics brand in the country. They have more than 3,000 authorized service points and 12,000 service engineers serving customers across the country. They have expanded their retail presence by launching Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru and the first flagship lifestyle store ‘Samsung BKC’ in Mumbai.
