The Super-8 match of T20 World Cup 2026 was played between West Indies and Zimbabwe at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Batting first, West Indies scored 254 runs for 6 wickets. In reply, Zimbabwe was all out for 147 runs. In this match, both the teams hit a total of 31 sixes. With this, the record of sixes in T20 World Cup history was broken.

A total of 31 sixes were hit by both the teams in the match played at Wankhede Stadium. This is the record of most sixes hit in a single match in T20 World Cup history.

Earlier, in the T20 World Cup 2014 match played between Ireland and Netherlands, a total of 30 sixes were hit. Then in the same T20 World Cup 2026, a total of 25 sixes were hit in the match played between England and India. Earlier, in the T20 World Cup 2010, a total of 24 sixes were hit in the match between India and Australia. Whereas in the T20 World Cup 2024, a total of 24 sixes were hit in the match between India and Australia.

Shimron Hetmyer hit the most sixes

Batting first in this match, West Indies team scored 254 runs for 6 wickets. This is the second highest total score in T20 World Cup history. For West Indies, Shimron Hetmyer played an inning of 85 runs in just 34 balls, which included 7 fours and 4 sixes. Whereas Rovman Powell scored 59 runs in 35 balls with the help of 4 fours and 4 sixes. In reply, Zimbabwe team was reduced to 147 runs. For Zimbabwe, Brad Evans played an unbeaten inning of 43 runs in 20 balls, in which he hit 2 fours and 5 sixes.
