The name of the tree comes from two Sanskrit words, “bodhi”, meaning “to enlighten” and “chitta”, meaning “soul”. Nepali indigenous Tamang community calls it Frangba but in Tibet it is called Tenwa and in China it is called Shu Zhu. A prayer rosary consists of 108 common beads and one master or guru bead. All beads except the master bead should be of the same size. Pearls are measured in millimeters by a device used by Chinese traders.
