Cyber fraud on the pretext of kidney donation in the name of Medanta, woman poses as fake doctor and asks for Rs 3 crore
A case of cyber fraud has come to light in Gurugram, in which the accused woman named Priya Santosh cheated people by promising them Rs 3 crore in exchange of kidney donation. The accused used to call herself a doctor of Medanta Di Medicity Hospital and contact people through social media, fake websites and WhatsApp groups. On the complaint of Dr. Sanjay Durani, Medical Superintendent of Medanta Hospital, Sadar police station has registered an FIR against Priya Santosh and her other unknown associates and started investigating the case.
Medanta created fake website, also gave staff ID
In the complaint given to the police, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Sanjay Durani said that a woman named Priya Santosh is duping people by pretending to be a doctor of the hospital. According to the police, the accused used to contact people through fake websites and WhatsApp groups and promised to give Rs 3 crore in exchange of kidney donation. This gang has also created a fake website by illegally using the name and logo of the hospital. It was claimed on the website that Medanta Hospital is in dire need of a kidney and the person who donates his kidney will be given Rs 3 crore. To win people’s trust, Priya Santosh introduced herself as Medanta’s doctor and also showed her staff ID. Police have registered an FIR against Priya Santosh and her other unknown associates and started investigating the case.
The woman trapped in the hoax contacted the hospital administration
Accused Priya Santosh tried to cheat people by pretending to be a doctor of the hospital. A woman, Pratiksha Pujari, got caught in this trap. Eight thousand rupees were taken from him as registration fee. The swindlers assured him that he would be given three crore rupees, but for this he would have to deposit another twenty thousand rupees. When the woman became suspicious and contacted the hospital administration, the entire matter came to light. The hospital administration clarified that no doctor named Priya Santosh works here and the staff ID given by her was also fake. Police have registered an FIR against Priya Santosh and her unknown associates and started investigating the case.
Medanta replied, everything is fake
The hospital administration clarified that they do not operate any kind of illegal organ trade or any such website. This gang is not only duping people but is also damaging the image of the prestigious Medanta Hospital. After this sensational case came to light, Gurugram Police, considering the seriousness of the matter, has started investigation by registering an FIR against Priya Santosh and her other unknown associates under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
