A woman wanted with a reward of Rs 25,000, who was part of a gang that took girls to Rajasthan and sold them, was arrested.
Kanpur. Naubasta Police has arrested a woman wanted for a reward of Rs 25,000, who was part of a vicious gang that lured innocent girls to Rajasthan and got them married by taking money. Three people have already been arrested in this case while another female accused named Madhuri is absconding and the police is making efforts to nab her.
Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner of Police South Deependra Nath Choudhary said that a reward of Rs 25 thousand was announced on this wanted woman Palak Singh alias Sonali Awasthi. This woman named Sonali Awasthi is a resident of Barra area. Deputy Commissioner of Police South Deependra Nath Chaudhary said that a joint team of Naubasta Police Station and Surveillance Cell South Zone arrested accused Palak Singh alias Sonali Awasthi, wanted with a reward of ₹ 25,000, from Barra area. The accused was wanted in FIR No. 131/2025 under various sections of BNS and POCSO Act.
The accused was absconding for a long time, she was arrested on the basis of accurate information and surveillance. The arrest was made under the operation to nab criminals under the direction of Police Commissioner Kanpur Nagar. Advance legal action is being taken against the accused. Deputy Commissioner of Police South said that it was a gang of five people. These people used to lure innocent girls of this area and sell them to Rajasthan for money in order to get them married. When the girls got trapped, they used to complain through some forum, under which this case was registered.
