You can update it for free sitting at home. The date for updating Aadhaar card for free has been fixed as June 14, 2026. If you are not able to update by this date, you will have to pay charges later.
Pay attention to documents
If you also want to update your Aadhaar card, then upload the necessary documents in a neat manner. Apart from this, name and spelling should match in all documents. If there is a mismatch, your Aadhar card will not be updated but will be rejected. For Aadhaar card update, keep documents like PAN card, 10th mark sheet, electricity bill and residence certificate. Upload the file in JPEG, PDF or PNG format only.

How to update Aadhar card?
- First of all go to the official portal of myAadhaar.
- After this enter the OTP sent on your Aadhaar number and registered mobile number.
- During this time you will be logged in, then go to the dashboard and click on document update.
- After this, fill all the requested information (name, date of birth, gender, address).
- Select valid Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA).
- Upload documents only in supported formats like JPEG, PNG, or PDF.
- Submit after filling the form. Your Aadhar card will be updated within a few hours.
