Aadhar Card: Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has decided to make the process of updating email ID in Aadhar free for a limited period. The decision aims to encourage people to keep their Aadhaar records more accurate and updated digitally. This digital facility will be available free of charge for six months

According to the new instructions of UIDAI, no fee will be charged for updating email ID in Aadhaar for the next six months from July 1, 2026. Earlier, a fixed fee had to be paid for this service, but now eligible users will be able to update their email without any extra cost during the stipulated time limit. This will also make it easier than ever to use online services linked to Aadhaar.

This facility will be available only through the official digital platform of UIDAI and Aadhaar mobile app. If a person updates his email ID through these means, only then he will get the benefit of free service. For updating through other means, the prescribed fee may be applicable as before. Therefore UIDAI has advised citizens to use only official platforms.
