Aakash Chopra picks India’s probable XI for 1st T20I against South Africa, names two debutants

Aakash Chopra has named his probable playing XI of India for the first T20I against South Africa. According to him, Ramandeep Singh and Yash Dayal will make their debuts, with no place for Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan.

The four-match series opener will be played in Durban on November 8. Ramandeep, Dayal, and Vijaykumar Vyshak are the new faces in the 15-member squad.

“There will be questions on Tilak Varma’s batting spot. You will have to include him in the playing group as Nitish Kumar Reddy is not a part of the team,” Aakash Chopra said.

Chopra feels either Tilak or Rinku Singh will bat at the No.4 slot.

“Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav are the top three batters in my Playing XI. The number four spot will go to either to Tilak or Rinku. Hardik Pandya will be at 5. One from Tilak or Rinku will come at No.6,” he added.

In 15 T20I innings, Tilak has scored 336 runs at a strike rate of 139.41.

“I feel Ramandeep Singh will make his debut and will play at the No.7 position. He bowls a bit and they might use him as a bowler along with Hardik,” he mentioned.

“Axar Patel at No. 8, Varun Chakravarthy at No. 9, Arshdeep Singh at No. 10, and Yash Dayal at No. 11. Yash will make his debut for the Indian team. He is a left-arm pacer, and India will go with three fast bowlers and two spinners.”
