Former India batter proposes blockbuster Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul trade deal

Indian cricket fans are buzzing with the massive Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav that was completed on Tuesday afternoon. Now there are massive speculations about the future of yet another Indian cricketer. That is none other than Hardik Pandyawho is looking to leave the Mumbai Indians.

Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra posted a short video on his Instagram account where he mooted a likely deal between the Delhi Capitals and the MI. The 48-year-old said that both sides could look to swap Hardik and KL Rahul in what would be a huge swap deal ahead of the next season.

Chopra said, “Imagine if DC calls up MI and asks them for Hardik in return for Rahul, because the all-rounder is leaving the team, so why not Delhi? It would be such a big trade, and in the middle-order, you have someone like Pandya and also get a bowling option, a top-quality player in a small ground. MI would also be looking at a successor for Rohit Sharma, and one has to remember KLR in Mumbai is a beast.”

The 32-year-old Baroda-based star, as per a previous report, is attracting interest from Kolkata Knight Riders as well. Three-time IPL winners are ready to give the captaincy to Mumbai’s wantaway star in a bid to lure him to the Eden Gardens.

Aakash Chopra analyses a few more tantalizing swap deals

India’s ex-batter also proposed a trade between Kolkata and the Capitals side. The prospective move involved Rahul going to Kolkata with either Varun Chakraborty or Harshit Rana going the other way. Aakash reasoned that Kuldeep’s leaving would have the 2020 IPL finalists in need of a spinner, which is where Varun could be handy. Even Harshit won’t be a bad choice since he is a local.

Chopra also looked at a potential deal between the Rajasthan Royals and the Knight Riders, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rinku Singh swapping teams. Delhi’s former skipper said that RR could look at left-handed batter Rinku as an option to bolster their middle-order, which struggled during the IPL 2026 season.
