New Delhi : The Aam Aadmi Party is unlikely to contest the Jharkhand and Maharashtra assembly elections, as the party wants to focus on Delhi elections rather than creating confusion in the minds of voters in the two states, which could lead to division of anti-BJP votes.

According to sources, the party wants to focus on strengthening the India block. However, for organizational expansion, the Maharashtra AAP unit wants to go to the polls but is unlikely to get approval from the top AAP leadership. The party says that our focus is on Delhi and we do not want to create more confusion in the minds of voters in Maharashtra, which could lead to division of anti-BJP votes.

On October 11, Aam Aadmi Party national general secretary (organisation) and Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak held an important meeting at the party headquarters for booth preparations for the Delhi elections. Party officials from state to booth level participated in the meeting. Sandeep Pathak talked to the workers. He said, “AAP is fully prepared for the assembly elections and stressed the need to further strengthen the already strong organization in Delhi and strengthen every booth in the state.…As the elections approach, the BJP will once again join forces with AAP.
