Aamir Khan Quits Smoking Ahead Of Son Junaid’s Film, Urges Fans To Drop The Habit
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has revealed that he has quit smoking after years of being a heavy smoker. At the trailer launch of his son Junaid Khan’s upcoming film Loveyapa on Friday, Aamir opened up about his decision to kick the habit and encouraged others to do the same.
Sharing his journey, Aamir admitted his love for smoking but acknowledged its harmful impact. “I have given up smoking. Smoking is something I love very much and enjoy, but it’s not good for health. No one should do it,” he said. Reflecting on his years of cigarette addiction, Aamir humorously mentioned, “I’ve been smoking cigarettes for years; now I smoke a pipe.”
He further expressed his happiness at overcoming the addiction. “I’m very happy to say that I’ve quit this bad habit. To everyone listening or watching, I urge you to give it up too. It’s not a good habit. For me, the timing was also perfect. My son’s career is starting, and I felt it was the right moment to make this sacrifice. I made a resolve in my heart to quit, independent of whether his film works or not. As a father, I wanted to do this.”
Aamir also appealed to fans to support his son’s debut. “Somewhere in the universe, I hope this sacrifice brings good. Please pray and wish for that too,” he said.
Junaid Khan’s Journey in Bollywood
Junaid Khan, Aamir’s elder son, made his acting debut last year with the Netflix India film Maharaj. With Loveyapa, set to release in theatres on February 7, he is stepping into the theatrical space. The film is backed by Aamir Khan Productions, adding a personal touch to the project for the family.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan himself is preparing for his next project, Sitaare Zameen Par, which has created considerable buzz among fans.
Aamir’s candid confession about his struggle with smoking and his decision to quit has resonated with many, setting a positive example for fans. As Junaid embarks on his cinematic journey, Aamir’s gesture serves as a symbolic mark of support for his son’s career and a message of self-improvement.
