Aamir Khan will come to OTT after rejecting 125 crores, changed plans regarding ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’

Tezzbuzz Desk – Aamir Khan’s film Sitaare Zameen Par is once again in the news. After releasing this film first in theaters and then on YouTube, it has now been decided to bring it on the OTT platform.

Why changed the decision?

Aamir Khan told that his intention from the beginning was to release the film on OTT, but not immediately after the theatrical release. He said that now he wants more and more people to be able to watch this film, especially those who could not reach theatres.

Release on OTT on 3rd April

‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ will now stream on SonyLIV from April 3. This film is made under the direction of RS Prasanna, in which Genelia Deshmukh is also seen in an important role along with Aamir Khan.

Interestingly, Aamir Khan had rejected an OTT offer of around Rs 125 crore for this film. Instead he released it on YouTube under a “pay-per-view” model, where viewers had to pay Rs 100 to watch it.

It was also a hit at the box office

The film also got a great response in theatres. According to reports, it did a worldwide business of around Rs 266 crore.

Aamir Khan is also in the headlines these days for his production film Lahore 1947. Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta will be seen in lead roles in this film. This film is going to be released in theaters on 13th August.
