AAP releases first list for Kerala elections, announces 22 candidates, gets 3 seats in civic elections
Kerala Assembly Elections: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released the first list of 22 candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Kerala. Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal is making efforts to strengthen the organization in the state. After good performance in the civic elections, the party is now preparing to register its strong presence in the power politics of Kerala.
Earlier, Gyanesh Kumar, who is the Chief Election Commissioner of the Election Commission of India, had said that the assembly elections in Kerala could set a new benchmark for democratic processes. He also expressed confidence in the state’s election preparations and the cooperation of political parties.
AAP first list of candidates
The candidates announced by the party include several doctors, lawyers and social workers. The leading candidates are as follows-

- Jayakrishnan P.N. – Pudukkad (Thrissur)
- Wilson Cullen – Chalakudy (Thrissur)
- Dr. K.M. Francis Roy – Kodungallur (Thrissur)
- Rafiq C.A. – Kalpetta (Wayanad)
- Mustafa P.K. – Koyalandi (Kozhikode)

3 seats were won in civic elections
In the recently held local body elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had won three seats. The special thing was that the women candidates of the party won all these three seats. This success is being seen as a sign of the party’s growing influence in Kerala.
The list of candidates released by the party mainly focuses on the general category candidates. These include people from various professions like doctors, lawyers and social workers. The party believes that after the success in the local body elections, now there is an opportunity to further strengthen the organization in the state.

Special preparation of Election Commission
The Election Commission of India has said that to make the election process transparent, 100 percent webcasting will be done at all the polling stations in the state. Apart from this, special facilities will be provided for senior citizens above 85 years of age and disabled voters, so that they will be able to vote from home. The Election Commission believes that these arrangements will make the voting process more transparent and participatory.
