AAP leaders pay tribute to Kanshi Ram ji, reiterate commitment for social justice and equality

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders on Sunday paid heartfelt tribute to Bahujan leader Kanshi Ram ji on his birth anniversary and remembered his lifelong struggle for social justice and empowerment of backward classes. The leaders reiterated their commitment to carry forward his vision through policies focused on equality, education and welfare for every section of the society.

Addressing a gathering in Ropar, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that Kanshi Ram ji played a historic role in spreading the ideology of Babasaheb Ambedkar and awakening the Bahujan community. Harpal Singh Cheema said that during my student days, I got the opportunity to work closely with Kanshi Ram ji and learn from his mission of social change. At a time when many people knew little about the ideology of Babasaheb Ambedkar, Kanshi Ram Ji traveled from village to village on foot and bicycle to spread awareness and unite the Bahujan community. He dedicated his entire life to taking the message of equality and justice to the grassroots level.

Harpal Singh Cheema further said that Kanshi Ram ji’s message of ensuring political participation for backward classes continues to inspire him and many others in public life. Harpal Singh Cheema said that his appeal to the Bahujan community to play their rightful role in politics inspired many of us to enter public service and work for social change.

Highlighting the efforts of the Punjab government, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is working to implement the ideals of Babasaheb Ambedkar in governance. Harpal Singh Cheema said that the AAP government has taken historic steps to ensure reservation for the post of Advocate General in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which has created opportunities for young lawyers from backward backgrounds.

Speaking about the government’s focus on education, Harpal Singh Cheema said that with the reforms done in government schools, students from ordinary families are becoming eligible to crack competitive exams like JEE and NEET and aspire for higher positions in the country. Cheema further said that the AAP government is strengthening government education so that children from ordinary families can fulfill their dreams and achieve high positions in the country.

Harpal Singh Cheema also mentioned various welfare schemes of the Punjab Government, which include free electricity, better health facilities and financial assistance schemes to strengthen women and economically weaker families.

Meanwhile, AAP leader Pawan Kumar Tinu, while addressing a gathering in Jalandhar, also paid tribute to Kanshi Ram ji and described him as a fearless leader who devoted his life to organizing and strengthening the backward classes. Pawan Kumar Tinu said that the life and struggle of Kanshi Ram ji is a source of inspiration for all of us. We should follow his ideals of social equality, unity and political awareness.

Pawan Kumar Tinu further said that the AAP government of Punjab is committed to ensure equal opportunities and respect to every section of the society as per the vision of Babasaheb Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram Ji.
