News India Live, Digital Desk: The allegations of ‘Operation Lotus’ have once again raised the political temperature in Punjab politics. “Whatever you ask for, you will get”: MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj’s revelation
AAP MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj made a sensational claim during the press conference that Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini had contacted her a few days ago. According to Bharaj:
BJP ticket: He has been offered to contest the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections from Sangrur seat on BJP ticket.
Asking price: The MLA alleged that CM Saini assured her that whatever demand (financial or post) she made would be fulfilled.
Closed door meeting: The MLA also claimed that he was offered a closed-door meeting.
CM Nayab Saini’s counterattack: “I don’t even know him”
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has responded in a strict tone to these allegations. He completely rejected these claims, saying, “I do not know that MLA nor do I know his constituency.” Saini further said that the people of Punjab are disappointed with the AAP government and have made up their mind to elect BJP in 2027, hence such baseless allegations are being made.
Your attack: “Put up a for-sale board in some other state”
Baltej Pannu, AAP general secretary in Chandigarh, warned the BJP, saying Punjabis are known for their honor and cannot be bought. He said that BJP should put up its ‘Bikau’ board in some other state. It is noteworthy that this is not the first time that AAP has accused BJP of horse-trading of MLAs; Even in 2022, an offer of Rs 25 crore each was claimed for 10 MLAs.
BJP’s response: “Politics of lies and drama”
Haryana BJP has termed these allegations as a ‘distraction tactic’. BJP Media Secretary says that Bhagwant Mann government is playing ‘victim card’ to divert public attention from its failures and unfulfilled promises.
